New Pick-up Truck Prices Hit $100K Mark, Leaving Local Buyers Looking For Alternatives

In the Rio Grande Valley, people love pickup trucks. According to the Detroit Free Press, new pickups prices have steadily risen so fast that they’re now out of reach for average consumers. Some full-size pickups can cost more than $100,000. Edmunds' data shows that prices for new pickup truck prices increased 48-percent from 10 years ago and 19-percent from 2013.

It’s no surprise that buyers in the McAllen, Harlingen and Brownville area are stepping back from new pick up trucks when you consider that the median home value in Cameron County is only $89,900.

That’s why many are in the RGV are turning to independent used car dealers like Trevino’s Auto Mart. The average price of a previously owned pick-up at Trevino’s Auto Mart are around $20,000. With these low prices and great finance options, used pickup trucks are quality, affordable options for people all over South Texas.
